I was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, grew up in Southern Idaho, and then moved to Southern California to study Architectural Interior Design. After having a successful career in that field for several years, it was time to create in a more immediate way. Taking just one Jewelry and Metalsmithing class I quickly became challenged and passionate about this new media. With only the very basic of techniques, I decided that this was to be my new career. By studying books, attending workshops, and with several self-taught skills, along with my strong background in design, I have developed my own signature style
I consider my work as “Elegant Contemporary Jewelry”. I hand form, construct, and solder each individual art piece with the ability to stand on its own, a balance of beauty and function. I use the rich materials of gold, lustrous pearls, and various beautiful shapes of hand selected colorful gem stones to create the jewelry into timeless and collectable pieces. I design several collections and create the items; brooch/pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces in various color ways. My jewelry designs are mostly one-of-a-kind, with a few limited edition pieces.
Over the years I have had the honor of receiving numerous awards for my jewelry and metal work and being published in several books including the books, ‘1000 Rings’, the ‘American Art Collector’, ‘Making Metal Beads’, ‘Art Jewelry Today 2’, ‘500 Knives’, and ‘Pewtersmithing’. I feature my art work at various juried shows and at select galleries throughout the country. I have built a strong patronize that continues to collect my jewelry at the juried art and craft shows, and commissioning custom designed pieces.
