Yarn Bomb Contest at 35th La Quinta Arts Festival
Calling All Creatives!

Get your creative juices flowing and celebrate the 35th La Quinta Arts Festival with us, March 2-5, 2017.
Design and install yarn bombs in 35 designated spaces at La Quinta Civic Center Campus—
with location opportunities including park benches, railing and temporary fence.

Successful entrants will receive complimentary passes to attend La Quinta Arts Festival-AND-eligibility to win a prize of $500 for the best installation as voted by the festival going public.

How To Enter The Contest
To secure your spot, email a short description of the proposed design to: info@LQAF.com no later than January 31, 2017.

You may sign up as an individual or team (complimentary festival tickets limited to 4 per team entry). Once your design is accepted, we will contact you to advise your installation location at the park.

How To Yarn Bomb
Choose a designated space to design your yarn bomb – park bench, railing, temporary fence, bike rack- any of those choices that you think would be cheered by your creation. You may wrap, stitch, knit, crochet, or weave your design.

Contest Rules
Yarn bombs must be completely made of commercially available yarn, rope, or soft fabric ONLY. Designs should not impede the utility of the fixture (ie. patrons will be sitting on the benches), nor pose any safety or environmental hazard.

LQAF has sole and final authority to accept or reject entries and to cancel the contest in the event of an insufficient number of entries; minimum 15 entries.

Yarn bombs MUST be installed: Sat. Feb. 25, Sun. Feb. 26 and Mon. Feb. 27.

Take a photo of your yarn bomb. Post on LQAF Facebook Page (facebook.com/LaQuintaArtsFoundation) with your name and contact details or email it to info@lqaf.com. Winner will be announced on March 5, 2017.

One more thing – much as we love them, we have to take them down after the end of the festival so it would be helpful if everyone could retrieve their own.
