James Galindo

Laguna College of Art and Design (2006), BFA, Drawing and Painting;
Laguna College of Art and Design (2009) MFA, Painting

Since 2009 James has taught drawing and painting at Laguna College of Art & Design, Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, Brentwood Art Center, FT Art Academy, and Saddleback Community College.

Galindo is hoping to land full-time status as an art instructor at a community college in the Los Angeles area. This Fall (2011) he will be juggling teaching positions at Laguna College of Art & Design, Rio Hondo Community College, probably Brentwood Art Center, and hopefully Saddleback Community College again. He is also involved in some web and graphic design projects.

Galindo is currently represented by Dawson Cole Fine Art in Laguna Beach, where he had a one-man exhibit in June 2010.  He plans on painting in the studio a little more during the summer and through next semester in the hopes of entering more competitions.

“Trained in a traditional academic approach, Galindo’s paintings reflect similar elements one might see in a work by John Singer Sargent or Carolus Durand. Considered by many to be one of the finest emerging figure painters at work today, Galindo strives to construct an intimate relationship between image and viewer.”
