“Art Under the Umbrellas” Returns October 9th at Old Town La Quinta
La Quinta Arts Foundation (LQAF) officially launches it 29thSeason with the return of “Art Under the Umbrellas at Old Town La Quinta” on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission and parking is free.
The sixth season opener of “Art Under the Umbrellas” will host a total of 73 artists (a record number for an October show) along the streets and lawn of picturesque Old Town La Quinta presenting newly created works in painting, glass, ceramic, wood, sculpture, photography, fiber, and mixed media—plus 16 jewelry artists. Included on October’s roster are 11 first time exhibitors to this venue.
Live music by Steve Madaio (and friends) will entertain the art patrons throughout the day as they stroll the art-lined streets, and visit the many boutique shops and restaurants offered by Old Town La Quinta.
This is the first of eight “Art Under the Umbrellas” events planned for the 2010/11 season. The series continues on select Saturdays: November 6 & 27, 2010 and January 15, February 12 & 19, March 26, and April 9, 2011.
Old Town La Quinta is located in the historic Village of La Quinta. Take Washington Street South. Go West on Calle Tampico for two blocks. Old Town La Quinta will be on the left-hand side.
