Producing the #1 Fine Art Festival La Quinta Arts Festival takes the support of over 200 volunteers and thousands of volunteer hours. As a fundraiser and community event, La Quinta Arts Festival helps support the livelihood of working artists and provides Visual Art scholarships for college-bound students from the Coachella Valley. Your passion to serve arts and education is a great service to our community.

Volunteers are the backbone of our event! Artists and patrons continue to recognize our volunteers on their commitment to ensuring a top-notch experience. Volunteers participate with professionalism and fun in a unique behind-the-scenes experience at one of the top Art Festivals in the nation. Volunteers are led by Chairpeople at 16 locations on the Festival site including Hospitality, Ticket Sales, Exit Gates, Festival Store, and Festival Concierge. We appreciate your interest and look forward to having you join our spectacular team of volunteers!

To inquire about available volunteer positions at La Quinta Arts Festival 2019 please call Jasmine Duran at 760.564.1244 ext.106.  As a reminder to those who have already registered, our Volunteer Meeting is February 23rd at 9:00am. If you cannot attend that meeting, please meet at 1pm in the Wellness Center on Monday, March 4th to pick up your credentials and volunteer t-shirt. No one is allowed on site beginning Tuesday, March 5th without proper credentials! Please make the time to pick up or have someone pick up your material.

New this year, Volunteering Shifts and Registration is done online with VolunteerLocal.

All other volunteer positions will receive training on-site. Please arrive 15 minute prior to the beginning of your shift and report to your Chairperson. Read all documents, communications, and materials provided to you.

Volunteer Positions for La Quinta Arts Festival 

Volunteers are representatives of La Quinta Arts Foundation. We want your experience as a volunteer to be fun and fulfilling while serving the mission of LQAF. 

Ambassadors: Ambassadors are floaters on Festival grounds and will complete tasks asked of them from Artists, Patrons, or Staff including booth sitting, lunch delivery, and delivery of receipt books to booths. Volunteers must be 18+ years, able to walk for four hours, and commit to three training sessions prior to La Quinta Arts Festival 2019.

Artist Registration: Our Registration volunteers work a full-day shift for up to two days prior to opening day to help facilitate La Quinta Arts Festival® paperwork.

Helpline: Our Helpline Support Team provides assistance to Artists and Patrons throughout the Festival. This task requires the volunteer to be moving for long periods of time. Helpline Support may be asked to run errands, booth sit, deliver receipt books, deliver lunches or escort patrons.

Hospitality: Serve snacks, water, and coffee with a smile to artist and volunteers during Artist Registration & Set Up and throughout La Quinta Arts Festival! Volunteers are also responsible for maintaining the appearance of the Wellness Center Patio. Lifting (15 lbs.) may be required.

Ticket Sellers: Located at both East and West Entrances, Ticket Sellers are often the first to greet patrons to La Quinta Arts Festival. This is a seated position with cash handling experience and 1 hour of PurplePass POS training required.

Ticket Scanners & Greeters: This position welcomes patrons into the site, scans their tickets, and provides them with festival programs. This is a standing position.

Exit Gates & Receipt Takers: Thank patrons for sharing the day with us and for being advocates of the arts! If a patron leaving Festival has made a purchase, Gold Receipts are collected by the Gate volunteer for LQAF records.

Festival Store: Shirts, hats, memberships, ticket upgrades, and the Festival Poster are all on sale at the Festival Store.  We find volunteers with cash handling and top-notch customer service experience do well here!

Information Booth: We couldn’t have the experience of La Quinta Arts Festival without our partners and sponsors! The Information Booth supplies information on sponsors, how Festival is operated, who is attending, and volunteers can coordinate lunch or dinner reservations for a patron on the spot! Training for this position takes place before the Festival with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Festival Concierge: Placed throughout the breath-taking La Quinta Arts Festival® site our Concierges make sure everyone feels at home – no upside-down map left unturned! Festival Concierges are armed with a notebook of knowledge that includes everything and anything a patron might ask. Yes, we mean anything! This is a self-directed, seated position. Training will take place in the office prior to Festival with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Customer Pick Up: Patrons are provided with the option to leave their purchased art with Customer Pick Up while they continue to enjoy the Festival. Patrons or artist will sign in or out a purchased piece to be taken home the same day of purchase. No over-night stays, lifting, or assistance to car.

Site Support: Golf Cart drivers assist Artists from parking lot to Booth without loading or unloading of cart. Golf cart volunteers must be 18+ years and possess a valid driver’s license. Volunteers are asked to sign a liability release to operate the golf cart at the time of their shift.

Finance Calculator and Support: Our team works non-stop for a week of crunching numbers and organizing receipts. Finance Calculator volunteers must have knowledge and experience using 10-key and attend training prior to La Quinta Arts Festival 2019.
