Start off the New Year in Silvery Style with a trendy bracelet, pendant or ring from Kathy Caldwell’s exclusive collection of handcrafted silver and gold jewelry. Kathy is a Featured Artist at Art Under the Umbrellas on January 11th, and has secured an invitation to exhibit at the 32nd La Quinta Arts Festival – currently ranked the #1 Fine Art and Fine Craft Festival in the Nation 2014 by Art Fair Sourcebook.
Kathy Caldwell studied art and design at both The University of California at Berkeley’s Fine Art Department and the prestigious Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She first started making jewelry in a small studio in Chicago where her craftsmanship attracted the attention of local galleries and jewelry stores.
After many years working in the studio her career took a major U-turn upon moving to California where she joined the corporate sector as a vice president and head merchandiser for a series of high-end jewelry stores in San Diego.
Back in Artist mode, Kathy moved to La Quinta in 2004 where her much in demand Kathy Caldwell Designs is regularly showcased at both Art Under the Umbrellas and La Quinta Arts Festival. Many of Caldwell’s designs reflect the natural curves and rich colors of the desert mountains that surround her home.
In 2010 Kathy Caldwell was recognized as a “Distinguished Artist of La Quinta” by The City of La Quinta Community Services Department and La Quinta Arts Foundation for her contribution to the culture of the city. During the summer Caldwell’s hand forged jewelry took First Place at the 2013 Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art & Wine Festival.
