Sunshine Artist, America’s premier art and craft show magazine, delivered La Quinta Arts Festival 2011 a glowing review in its July 2011 issue. Compiled from FastAudit reports by artists, the review was based much on artist sales, plus venue, artist amenities, and quality of art. (Read the entire review. Click on ‘View Current Issue’)
Following is an excerpt: “About 60 percent of our auditors made more than $10,000 at the 29th annual show, with the top performers achieving a total of $50,000 from pieces averaging $3,500. Nearly 30 percent made at least $5,000. The artist who did the ‘worst’ made $4,500 and ranked sales a five (out of 10). Given numbers like that, it’s no shock that auditors mostly rated sales with nines and 10s. Another artist called this his/her ‘best show ever,’ and an oils artist said La Quinta gets ‘better every year.’”
The review went on to say, “Auditors lauded the other aspects of the show, too, granting high marks across the board. ‘Unbelievably beautiful setting,’ said a mixed media artist. ‘[The] show is filled with generally very well-juried art. Artists are treated like royalty.’” Other artist accolades included:
•“This is one of the only fine art shows that stick to their quality of artists and work tremendously hard with advertising, sponsorships and marketing to get the right clientele.”
• “2011 saw unbelievable weather, record attendance, new faces, including lots of Canadians buying homes and filling them with art.”
• “Amazing artist hospitality, beautiful venue. I can’t say enough!”
Artists are invited to apply to exhibit in the 30th La Quinta Arts Festival, March 8-11, 2012, at www.zapplication.org between July 1 and October 31, 2011.
