Winter Light Premiers at 2015 ShortFest

Congratulations are again in order to LQAF Scholarship Recipient Erika Walters! http://www.erikawalters.com/ Another short film on which she worked as Production Designer has been accepted into the Palm Springs International 2015 ShortFest as part of the Programmer’s Pick category. Winter Light https://www.facebook.com/winterlightfilm was shot in Montana in 2014. It is billed by the film festival as, “An exquisitely shot film about a headstrong professor who will do anything to defend his land and the wildlife on it, featuring a tour-de-force performance by Raymond J. Barry.”

The Director, Julian Higgins, and Cinematographer, Andrew Wheeler, also worked with Erika on her thesis film, Thief, while at the American Film Institute. Thief became an official selection at ShortFest 2011 and was awarded the Gold Medal by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the 38th Student Academy Awards.

One of LQAF’s star scholarship students, Erika Walters has carved out a successful career working full time doing production design and art direction for film, TV, commercial and music videos. Her prestigious degrees include: B.F.A Printmaking (1999-2002), Rhode Island School of Design and M.F.A Production Design (2008-2010), American Film Institute.
