Cavan’s oil pastels and oil paintings are influenced by the drives she takes through the different scenic regions of the US. She paints colorful adobe houses, farm houses, old barns, and sets these against a rich and colorful landscape: sometimes at night with endless starry skies, sometimes in the snowy winter months, sometimes against a simple background or a flourishing springtime scenery or sultry autumnal skies.
Bold and beautiful is her work and the light seemingly sparkles off her objects. Cavan captures “landscapes of places that I love” and strives to “capture the essence of those places” and that love for the landscape shines through. This will be her first year at the La Quinta Arts Festival, so please be sure to pay her booth a visit and browse her work!
