Welcome to La Quinta Arts Foundation’s Visual Arts Scholarship information and application page. The La Quinta Arts Foundation is pleased to offer you the opportunity to apply for our 2008/2009 Visual Arts Scholarship Awards. Our online process is designed to be user friendly. You will fill out the application form online and then print to submit by mail or fax. Just click the “APPLY NOW” link below, fill out the application form and submit your application. The recommendation form for the application process is also online. Whomever you choose to write your recommendation needs only to click the “RECOMMENDATION Prior to completing the application please read the “APPLICATION GUIDELINES” section. The online application is just one part of the materials needed to apply for the scholarship. In addition to the application you must submit your most recent transcripts, electronic examples of your artwork, three (3) recommendations and a 300 word essay (the last section of the application). This scholarship is to be used by visual art majors, from the Coachella Valley, and returning scholarship recipients, who are seriously pursuing a career in the field of art. Award recipients are required to take art courses in order to qualify for the funds. La Quinta Art Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization whose mission is “promoting and cultivating the arts” in the Coachella Valley by developing art related programs, producing public art and cultural events, and forming partnerships and exchanges with cultural organizations, social service and civic agencies, and local businesses. The Visual Arts Scholarship Program is designed to assist local college-bound art students, and returning scholarship recipients, as they work toward a career in the field of art. La Quinta Arts Foundation has awarded more than $794,000 in scholarships during the past twenty four years.
