The Subject: The first-ever National Endowment for the Arts survey of more than 1,000 outdoor festivals held from April to October 2009 in “Live From Your Neighborhood: A National Study of Outdoor Arts Festivals.”

Good news for arts festivals, even in what Trescott calls ‘the lingering recession,’ people are getting out of the house with outdoor cultural activities on their agenda.  Whether with children in tow for family friendly events, or on dates or with groups of friends, Americans in all their diversity are casting their vote – the well-produced arts festival is an important and enjoyed entertainment option.

Check out the above mentioned Washington Post article and the NEA survey results it discusses.
