SUMMARY:Art & Wine RECEPTION
@ Old Town Cellar ~ 5-7pm
Meet the Artist, Rebecca Molayem
DESCRIPTION:A DAY OF FIRSTS! Join us on June 1st for our very first Art & Wine at Old Town Cellar First Tuesday Reception, presenting June’s Featured Artist Rebecca Molayem, complimentary wine tasting hosted by Zaca Mesa Winery , with tapas served by Old Town Cellar. "Art & Wine" Series: FIRST TUESDAY RECEPTION Meet the Artist & Enjoy Free Wine Tasting & Tapas Painter Rebecca Molayem’s artwork will be on display this night and for sale at Old Town Cellar throughout the month of June. Wine Tasting Hosted by Zaca Mesa Winery Zaca Mesa Winery will be pouring three premium wines that evening: a Viognier, a Chardonnay, and a Syrah. Zaca Mesa was one of the first wineries in Santa Barbara County, located in Los Olivos on the famous Sideways Trail. In 1995 Wine Spectator placed their 1993 Syrah #6 on their Top 100. It is still the only Santa Barbara County wine to break into their Top 10. As a fascinating side note, Zaca Mesa Syrah was served by President Clinton to French President Chirac at the White House. THE ARTIST Rebecca is a well known favorite in these parts, having been a regular exhibitor in both La Quinta Arts Festival and Art Under the Umbrellas. She is an expressionist artist with a unique whimsical, captivating style. Rebecca's images are filled with voluptuous, exaggerated characters with expressive body languages. Israeli born, Rebecca's greatest sources of inspiration are family, friends, people she meets, and places she likes to visit. Anywhere from coastal scenes with bathing beauties, to couples dancing and night life are captured in her conversational, mysterious, yet inviting paintings. "I express feelings of happiness and joy through my paintings and believe my work is a source of strong compassion, opening doors to exhilarating journeys through color and composition," says Molayem. Rebecca opened her own fine art gallery in 2008. The Rebecca Molayem Gallery in West Hollywood is filled with an incredible array of eclectic exhibits.
