Art Under the Umbrellas Spotlight: Leslee Adams – The Watercolor Chef

Raised in Palm Springs and a professional chef by trade – earning a Pastry Diploma at The Ritz Escoffier in Paris – Leslee Adams worked as a pastry chef at The Ritz Huntington Hotel until she moved back to the Coachella Valley in 1990 and opened her own catering/pastry business.

Leslee began watercolor painting as a relaxing hobby in 2002 and soon developed a full blown passion for the art. She first became known for her gorgeous food-themed paintings, then branching out to paint the local desert cactus, still lifes, landscapes, and florals, as well as European landscapes.  All of her paintings are created with her bold, dramatic style rich and alive with vibrant color.

Leslee has been a member of the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society since 2004 and received many awards including Painter of the Year in 2008 and Best of Show.

Adams has drawn upon on her time as an exhibitor at Art Under the Umbrellas to develop new audiences and gain the expertise needed to propel her career as a professional artist to new heights —leading to her annual invitation to participate at the #1 Fine Art Festival in the Nation, La Quinta Arts Festival.  Leslee Adams will exhibit her watercolors at all Art Under the Umbrellas events in 2014, plus the 32nd La Quinta Arts Festival March 6-9, 2014.
