Stacy Dynan

While walking home from work one day, I became transfixed by a painting in the window of a London gallery.  The landscape abstract, by Scottish artist John Brown, ignited a passion within that compelled me to walk across the street and purchase my very first art supplies.  Once at home, new brushes flowed over blank canvas, unleashing–remarkably and definitively–my inner painter.  I had never held a paint brush before, but an hour later, I had a painting of my own.

To this day, I still don’t know how or why, but here I am. I was born and raised in Canada. After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Windsor, I traveled to Australia where I lived for several years prior to moving to Europe. I now live in California with my husband and 3 kids.

Style ‘extract’
I like to exaggerate the symmetry I see in landscapes by offsetting the image by using softer touches that we see in the environment. By adding the characters of trees and structures, I use their personalities with a touch of whimsy, to pull the whole piece together. I like to refer to my paintings as ‘dreamscapes.’
